Instant messaging: Meebo is a free web-based Instant Messenger that allows you to talk to people on any of the major Instant Messaging services (AOL, MSN, Yahoo, Google, etc.). Additionally, you can create your own MeeboMe chat widget at students can contact our Technology Help Desk  Students do not need to have an account at Meebo or anywhere else to chat with you. At LSC we use this as an additional way that students can contact our Technology Help Desk, along with email, telephone, and walk-in.




Live broadcast over the Internet using UStream.tv. This allows a TV-style broadcast with any kind of video camera (including cheap webcam) and an Internet connection. You can bring in co-hosts, ask poll questions with on-screen results charts, and record the broadcast for later playback from the archives.

You can embed the code for your UStream.tv live feed into any webpage. You can also choose to separately embed the chat window as shown here. Watch it live on UStream. (or go to Barry's UStream page)
