(For faculty) You could also have students embed cartoons in discussion postings where they can critique the toons of other students, and make suggestions. Maybe a group project to design (storyboard) a cartoon on a particular subject, reach consensus on the panels to be used, and then each create their version of the agreed-upon toon by selecting their own backgrounds, props, people or other figures, etc. Basically it could be an individualized group project.
Other potential uses: alternative to a Virtual Tour; eye-catching and memorable vehicle for FAQ answers; student contests; or just a new approach at creating promotional materials. How about a week-by-week recap of the football season?
